Dr. Sonia Jasso
District 2
For more than two decades, Doctor Sonia Jasso has worked in the higher education setting. She currently serves as the Director of High School Programs for Palo Alto College, and also is a professor teaching undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral courses at both Our Lady of the Lake University and University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio. Dr. Jasso understands the transformative power of a public education, and is committed to ensuring that every student in Northside ISD has the opportunity to thrive.

Coach
Laura Zapata
District 5
Born and raised in San Antonio, Coach Laura Zapata has worked as a public school educator for 24 years. Currently in her second year as an administrator in San Antonio ISD, Coach Zapata has coached girls’ basketball and softball. She understands the importance of collaboration and teamwork in achieving a shared vision. Coach Zapata is a proud lifelong champion of public education, understanding that it is the foundation for success. She is dedicated to ensuring that every student in Northside ISD has access to a high quality public education.



Nicolette Ardiente
District 6
Nicolette Ardiente is President of the Bexar County Young Democrats, and has been involved in San Antonio politics with the Democratic Party for many years. She currently serves as the Community Engagement Manager for Asian Texans for Justice, where she coordinates statewide advocacy efforts supporting the Asian American and Pacific Islander communities. Nicolette believes strongly in the power of public education to facilitate democratic participation in society.
Larissa Martinez
District 7
Larissa Martinez is an Air Force veteran and longtime resident of Northside ISD District 7. Her child and grandchild both attend Northside ISD schools, and she is passionate about investing in mental health and wraparound services for students and staff. Larissa established her own non-profit organization, Circle of Arms, in order to meet this need in the veteran community locally. As a parent stakeholder in the district who is involved in the PTA, Larissa knows firsthand how important parent and community partnership is in developing successful public schools.
